Just wondering if you guys think this is a good deal. There is a great guy in this forum who is selling a Xpan for 1100.00 that is MINTY w/boxes manual, hood, level, and 45mm lens.
The one on ebay is 950.00 buy it now in soso condition...let me know what you think.
I am a college student on a budget so im trying to save some cash but I dont know about the condition of this one.

I have seen some of these on the ol' auction site. I find it stange that there are so many mutilated Xpans always for auction. One does not see other cameras in similar shape as often, relative to quantity. There are not that many xpans at all, and on a relatively often occasion, a gross one shows up. I just wonder if it is not the same one or same few being tossed around from one unhappy buyer to another. Be careful, the damage does look like a terrible fall, something that could harm viewfinder alignment, etc.
viewfinder alignment would put you back a couple hundred at least, I would guess, and that would make it reasonable to just buy one through KEH or somewhere that would offer some promise of quality and functionality.

buy the one for $1100. you'll be much happier.
As for the "mutilated" xpans, it's called a used camera. not some babied camera that never comes out of the bag. Also, the paint on the first xpan is said to be soft. I never had issue with it.

I didnt notice viewfinder damage. Most of what I see with early Xpans is paint loss and this one is not any different.
Thanks for the headsup though... The finish on these cameras is definetly shitty for a 2k camera.

Before the purchase of the Fujifilm TX-2 (TX) be aware that Fuji USA nor Hasselblad USA will touch the camera. I have not been able to get service on my TX-2 - the problem appears to be a factory assembly problem (defect).
Any idea where to get service?
Hasselblad won't sell me the part, won't look at the camera.
Fuji USA won't even say the camera exists.
