WTF? 28mm-Bokehmorphic-lens

aww, come on - it's kinda cute isn't it?
and i agree with jsrockit - if you think that bokeh is what matters in photography you might as well just use this lens as the pictures are actually just as corny as the usual "bokehlicious" stuff you encounter everywhere on the net.

Now if someone would make it so you can insert a central gradient at the aperture, then you could have bokeh like the Sony STF. (I suspect it's patented anyway...)

I just find it funny that they make this lens and a $4,000 M mount lens. Something tells me that people will regret buying a $4000 lens from SLR Magic.

I'd prefer that people didn't concentrate on bokeh as the #1 element in a photo above content, composition, etc. Yes, I'd prefer bokakeh...at least that is funny. However, wouldn't that be more appropriate for a lens that squirts out something one you hit the shutter?

Funny that you mentioned bokeh as the most important element ... this is the same company that is marketing the $4000 50mm T/0.95 lens that people were going crazy over on another gear centric photo forum.

They should maybe sell these toy lenses under a different label.

Haha I am looking forward to this. But Steve Huff will still rate it as the best lens.

I saw that Araakii... but he seems to be in tight with SLR Magic. I'm skeptical. $4,000 gets you a very nice Leica brand lens (not that I'd ever buy a $4000 lens).

I wonder when museums and galleries will start buying/selling photos that have bokeh as its primary subject matter?

They have paintings of solid color, so anything is possible as far as I'm concerned. :)

I think bokeh is often important and sometimes interesting in its own right, but no it's not the main criteria of a good photo IMO.

This is BOKEH-licious!! Here's hoping they add an aperture shaped like a question mark. One shaped like a hand with the middle finger raised would also undoubtedly be a huger seller. :)
