I just exchanged my X-E1 for an X-Pro. I had it for almost 2 months and used it quite extensively including lots of fashion jobs. I really liked the little guy, and the images it made are fantastic. The only thing that bothered me was struggling to see through the EVF on a sunny day outdoor shoot. Coming from a M6 and D3 for digital, I just really missed an optical viewfinder. I picked up the X-Pro and I am really liking it so far. It feels a lot more like my M6, which is nice! I have pretty large hands and the XE-1 did feel very small.

I didnt realize the XE-1 was physically smaller. I have been very happy with the X Pro-1.

Yes it is quite a bit smaller. I must also say that I am loving the X-pro LCD. You can see your shot so much more clearly.
One gripe is that on my very first day with the Xpro, I noticed a large chunk of dust inside the viewfinder on the EVF screen. Very annoying. I'm going back to the camera shop today.

Congrats and enjoy
I too prefer the X-Pro1 over the X-E1. I guess the size is comparible to a M9 and I always like how leicas fit in my hands.

I have an x-e1 as well and I've been thinking about switching over to the xpro 1 as well.
How is the focus speed between the two? Is there a difference? I hear some people say that the x-e1 has a quicker focus than the xpro1.
Also just to throw it out there, think we'll be hearing about an xpro2 any time soon?

I have both and I prefer the XE1. Mostly because I like the smaller size. And don't really use the optical finder (because I tend to have manual focus lenses on it).

I haven't had the xpro for long, but I do not notice a speed difference between them.
I was just going to keep the X-E1 and wait for the X-Pro2, but from what I hear it will be the end of 2013. I shoot daily for work, so even one solid year of shooting with a camera I really like is worth it for me. But, I of course will be upgrading to the 2. I'm guessing it will have all the perks of the x100s and will be a game changer...

I prefer the xp1 over the xe1 for the bigger size and the ovf. Coming from gxr and Nex cameras, I have never liked how larger/heavier lenses balance on a smaller body. The first time I tried a heavy lens like my Konica rf 21/35 on the xp1, it felt well balanced on the xp1 compared to the gxr. I tend to use the ovf at least 70% of the time.
