Any experience with Nikkor lenses and adapters? I have a 50/1.4, 35/2.8, and a 105/2.5.

I'll let you know in a week. ;-) Just received the Rayqual adapter, which is very nicely finished and fits the camera well. I'm out of town, but will be picking up my 50 1.8 Ais and 28-85 Ai to try on it this week. I prefer the 1.8 to the 1.4 for less distortion, and the zoom is just average, but I'm curious to see how they'll work.

Not nikkors but, Zeiss Contax. The tried the Distagon 21, Planar 1.4/50, Planar 2/100, Sonnar f2.8/135.
All perform exactly as you would expect... Very nice.
Handling IMO was mehh.. The "tube" that makes up the difference in Register distance makes the lenses oversized and cumbersome. Sort of a big cantilever pulling the camera over while shooting handheld. Focusing was nice easy
I much prefer these lenses on my 5D though.
The fuji lenses are superb. I'm looking forward to the 14 and hoping for a f2/ 90mm or 100mm prime one of these days. A Longer Portrait lens would be great!

I tried many Nikkors on my X-Pro1: 24/2.8 AF, 28/3.5 Ai'd, 50/1.2 Ais, 50/1.8 Ai. They all produced excellent image quality. But my favorite is the 100 Series E lens. Its much lighter than other Nikkors and thus feels much more balanced on the light-weight X body. I'm also very much liking the Hexanon AR 28/3.5 for the same reason... lighter weight feels better on the XPro1 (and it produces outstanding image quality).

Hi guys. I am using an XPro1 with Nikkor 50mm F1.8 and a Kippon adapter. The problem that I have is, if shooting in low light. You have to open up the aperture to facilitate focusing, then stop down again to your desired F stop. I am quite happy with the result from this combo, though.

I have the rainbowimaging adapter. I use my nikon 50 1.4, 24-70G and 10.5mm fisheye.
The adapter is great. It it holds the lenses very snugly. I can also control the G lens apertures although I mainly leave them wide open.
I must say, I mainly use the fuji lenses. But when I have time to play around and not worry about AF, this very cheap adapter works well with the Nikkor glass.

Are the rainbowimaging adpaters any good? The cost is awfully low and I am wondering if they will stand up to use. Since I have several Nikon G lenses (18-200, 35, & 12-24), it would be interesting to see how they perform. But first I have to buy the X-Pro1 or X-E1. Still on the fence as I am concerned about the diopter correction issue.

Am I doing something wrong? Received the Rayqual NF adapter last week, and mounted a 50mm 1.8 Nikkors Ais to try out today. Very disappointed. The fit and finish is very good, however, even with the lens opened up fully, the viewfinder is profoundly dark. I was outside shooting in full, bright afternoon Florida sun and it was still pretty much unusable for me. I don't care for the evf that much to begin with, but at least with the Fuji lenses there is a workable, bright image. Also, with my bifocal glasses, I couldn't get a sharp view with the evf. So, for me, this experiment was an overwhelming failure. Obviously, there are those on this forum that are succeeding with this set up, and I commend you all for your successes. Hopefully Steven at Camera Quest will allow a return.

Well, I have revisited the Rayqual adapter with Ais 50 1.8 and am now pleased with the results. Not sure if I had set something wrong for my first attempt, or maybe I was just in too blinding contrasty light, but it is very useable today. The color balance seems a little off, and this copy of the lens seems more prone to flare than the new Fuji designs. B&W, however is looking great.

I use the Kipon brand Nikon G adapter and it works well. To improve performance with my MF primes like the 105/2.5, I removed the front Nikon F bayonet, shimmed by adding tape of about 0.10mm thick and reassembled it. Now it's registration exactly matches my Nikon body giving idendical scale focus.
