X Pro-1 Focus Peaking: What will it be like?

I began playing with my NEX 5n (I do not use it anymore since my X Pro purchase) to take a look at focus peaking and to imagine it on my X Pro. This feature will be really great when we get it. I am wondering how close it will look to the Sony cameras. I am hoping the peaking will stand out and be easy to see. Anyone have a guess as to what we will be seeing in the near future? By the way, I am looking ant my NEX files and directly comparing it to the Fuji. The Fuji blows the Sony away, especially when I zoom in and see the pixel quality. The Fuji renders very fine detail and really looks less digital. The Sony seems to have larger blobs of pixels and has a much more plastic look in the images.

Have to believe it will be exactly like the focus peaking in the x100s.

The X100s implementation is rather poor compared to what Sony has. Currently, it is limited to white. There was a piece of news or rumour some time ago that Fuji aims to improve their focus peaking. It is pretty safe to assume the X-Pro 1 will have the same focus peaking algorithm as X100s.

Yeah, I see that canon and sony use colors in the focus peaking...hard to see how that actually helps anything, but I can only say that I'm very happy with the fuji White... I don't know if there are other settings on the sony or canon, but I find that setting the fuji to high until you get comfortable with using it and then down to LOW once you understand it is very accurate and enjoyable to use.

As in all things, whatever floats your boat... My own guess is that they are all about the same in IQ.

I like the 100S' focus peaking. For me, its just right... perfect subtle signal of in-focus moment. I tried the Sony version on one of the NEX cameras and found it to be too 'jolting'.

Especially when you wish to focus quickly, (choosing) the colour of the peaking can help you. Let's say you shoot somewhere with strong whites and lots of reflections. A red peaking is simply much easier to see here than white. Put your camera in black and white, and the red peaking jumps at you.

Anyway, the point really is that the current Fuji implementation is more limited than that of the Sony.

Focus peaking upgrade in firmware I think July 23 but they have already announced it.
