I just took my x100 out on the weekend and getting familar again with this fantastic camera, however I started experiencing difficulties associated with the setting of the locking for exposure and focus.

Currently I have the AEL/AFL button set to Exposure lock, however since I often need to move the camera down to the ground (on sunny days) and that involves more camera movement, however I found that I could take a rapid number of shots since it was taking the camera too long to focus and would have to refocus after each shot.

How do you deal with this situation?

If don't need to focus in between shots, just put the camera in MF mode.

If I remember correctly one can use the Menu system to use the AEL/AFL button to us the AF manually and lock exposure. The focus will not change unless you turn the lens collar or press the AEL/AFL button again.

Anyway, there is no reason the camera can't be operated as you wish.

Fujifilm provides PDFs of the X100 manual as well as mini-manuals for improvements and operational changes in firmware updates on it's wen site.
