I've had my X100 few a few months now and every once in a while when I turn it on the EVF/OVF or the LCD take about 30 seconds to turn on. I can press the shutter and hear it trying to gain focus but it won't fire a shot. If I let it sit for about a 30-60 seconds the screens activate and everything seems to be fine. Has anyone else experienced this?

Probably an issue with the SD card. If any changes were made to the contents outside the camera, the X100 seems to spend some time gettIng over it. Some things, like sticking the card in an iPad, make modifications without warning. You should probably reformat.

Ahh, that must be what it is. I just picked up an iPad and have been paying with the SD card dongle. Thanks!

Btw someone on a different thread mentioned turning on the write protect tab on the sd card to provent the Mac or windows device from putting hidden files on the sd card. After u remove turn off the write protect.
I normally just reformat the sd card in the camera as kermaier suggested as opposed to allowing the os to delete or the photo app to delete the files...

Just reformat the card every time you put the card into another device. You should do this with cards anyway.
