There is a saying, no news is good news, this is the exception.
I feel Keiths pain, and it's hard not to go just a little nutty whilst waiting. But if the camera doesnt arrive soon, I'll bet measuring up myself for a good fit in straight jackets.

Just got a twitter update from Vanbar. They are expecting stock early next week.

I've just called JB Hifi Cameras Melbourne where I have a pre-order. The lady there called fuji to find out for me when they'll be getting X100s in. The people at fuji said that JB should receive some stock on the 7th of May. Seems a little odd to me that they'd be getting an order on a Saturday, but here's hoping I'll have one for shooting next weekend.

I'm actually beginning to think I may have ordered from the wrong supplier. I'm not overly impressed with DCW's lack of communication regarding the state of play. Since I registered my pr-order with them I've had a couple of their junk emails for the usual promotional stuff but not a whisper about their delivery status with the X100.
I'd be loathe to cancel my order and go elsewhere though as I'd probably just finish up further down someone else's queue! :bang:

Keith maybe give Vanbar a call, ask for Lachie. Word is they have a few landing next week (and a big waiting list but people cancel all the time, maybe they can squeeze you in).

I've thought about that .. I may give them a call first thing Monday.
If they said to me ... "Not this shipment but we can maybe give you something from the next!" ... I'd settle for that.

I pre-ordered mine from Vanbar on the 10th of Feb, and was lucky enough to get one in the 1st shipment, of which I was surprised. How early did you pre-order yours from DCW Keith?

Not early enough unfortunately as my original intention was not to get one ... but things suddenly changed!
I just checked ... 5th March! I rang them the same day I ordered and the sales person on the phone told me that at that stage the first shipment still had available cameras ... but of course that was before the disaster in Japan. They originally estimated their first delivery to be between the 18th and 20th March.

I too am waiting on DCW - let's hope that Vanbar getting some is indicative of stock hitting down under in general - agreed on the lack of updates form DCW - only time I ever get anything from them is when I instigate contact or they want to sell me something else

Whats even more annoying is that it is a long weekend in the NT for May Day so I cant pick it up until this morning. (Tuesday)
Yesterday was another day at a great location and another with no X100!
