I'm considering buying an Xpan II and am having a hard time finding a new one. Any ideas where to find one in the US?
Also, anyone think it's crazy to buy this camera now since it's been discontinued?
Thanks.

or alternatively, you can get a new mamiya 7ii plus the pano kit. they are still available in major stores.

Thanks John! I've put in an email to the person I work with at my local photo dealer, so we'll see what he can do, but I may take you up on the offer if I get stuck.
Thanks.

I've sent you a message with a link to an online shop that still has one kit(x-pan II and 45mm lens) for sale. I'm not posting the link here so you don't get any competition

Make sure to save for the 30mm lens... I'd buy it before the 90... its really what this camera is about... absolutely fantastic.

It's a kit supplied by Mamiya to allow 35mm film to be used in the camera. It uses nearly all the 70mm width of the film gate and of course masks the film to 24mm frame height... thus resulting in a panoramic proportion.Leicabug said:What is a pano kit?
There are third-party pano kits for the Pentax 67 (and perhaps others) that include masks for both the film plane and the focusing screen, and spacers to hold the film cannister and spools in position. I have used one of these, and suppose it might be similar in effect to the Mamiya product. Film loading and unloading is awkward, but otherwise it's useful.
