if you're not going to buy an xt1 then i would wait for the xpro2 or the xe-3 to arrive before buying fuji.

unless you want to save money…then i'd get a used xe1 for $350!

I have been handling the xt1 and xe2 (among others) a lot lately at my local shop. I have been thinking of replacing my m9 with one of these Fujis and get the 14 and 23mm lenses. One thought is to get the lenses and keep the xpro1 I want to sell and hold out for the xpro2. I am getting so overloaded with trying to make up my mind, that I can't.

.......Or an Xpro-1 for around $500. After a winter of unintentionally shelving mine, I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed using it for a recent visit to Montana.
It's the perfect travel Camera. Forgot why I decided I wanted something else.... still can't remember :D

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

I love my XE-1 I bought a few months ago. I guess I don't know what I'm missing with the new ones....other than much, much more cost.

i agree…i have 2 xe1 bodies and they are great! make great images as long as i get out of the way.
it's one of the main reasons that i have no strong pull to get a newer body…that and being broke atm...

didn't wait. lucky, had the cash, bought the x-t1. it's my first fuji x. so far, so good, glad to have now, not later.

It seems there are plenty of choices so nobody has to wait.
The Xpro and XE1 bodies sell for relative peanuts used these days. The 1.4/35mm lens as well.
The Xpro1 and 35mm alone are reason to buy into the system today if you crave a solution for M9/50mm summilux asph GAS.
I own the former and no longer wish for the latter :)

From my latest gallery post. Xpro1 and XF35 as Monochrom :p

Why waste your money on the X Pro 2....

Keep using your Film Camera until the Z Pro 709 comes out in 2347.
That's gonna be awesome.....

Everything else would be a waste of time!

Sadly I've had to put my Fuji gear up for sale. Sold most today. Fuji gear is good and anything you buy at anytime will be great. It's that GAS that gets your mind in a muddle. We all know there's no good time as there's always something else that'll tempt us.

new gear or hard times?

All of the fuji X-cameras with X-trans APS-C sensors are terrific. The X-Pro1, XE-1, XE-2, XT1, etc. - all great with differences that aren't likely to be seen in your photos. Taking the plunge with any of them is fine. The XE-1 prices are very low.

I am eager to see what Canon has in store for Photokina this September. They have been awfully quiet while amazing gear comes from Fuji, Sony, Sigma, Olympus, and Panasonic. The new Nikon 810 must also be making noise at Canon headquarters.

Hard times I'm afraid Joe. After twenty years of back trouble, arthritis and being registered disabled the changes made by the current government means I'm expected to look for work. They've taken all my benefits and I don't receive one penny. They told me that my wife would have to keep me. Maybe she will but it won't include buying camera gear.
I've sold my Fuji 18, 35 and flash.
Still got X100, Ricoh GR, Sony Rx100 and the tiny F30.

Sorry to read of your predicument Paul. The XP-1 must be a tank. Don Springer blogs about having to sell his because of neck & back pain. He's getting on fine with the X100s.

Thanks for the link. He's having the same problems as me by the sound of things. I think the fact I've been unable to work has meant I've lost some muscle too which won't help.
I recently cut down on my gear anyway as I got tired of the number of lens choices. I decided to go back to basics with just the 18 & 35 lenses but along with the Xpro it only got used when shooting events.
I know from experience that wherever I go I will manage to get some worthwhile shots. My daily carry is usually the GR, sometimes the DP2Merrill.

that sucks paul…the world has changed so much of late…budgets have become more important than people…i hope to be starting a job soon, things look promising…just have to finish some training and pass a test or 2, get certified and then start collecting pay cheques again…of course the pay is about half of what i was making before so there will be a change in life style!
i hope things begin to look up for you as well my friend...

Best of luck to ya Joe on your test, certification, & new job. Once you get that 1st pay check you will have to celebrate.:)
