Hello,

What is the best battery solution for a MG1? i just bought my 5 year old daughter and MG1 because she is interested in rangefinders. But I am going to need a battery. Is the ones from ebay for $12.50 with no special connetor or anything, dothey work well?
Thanks

You can use a more common 6 volt battery with a conical spring but if you look in the repair section here I think there is a nicer solution.

Yashica Guy at http://www.yashica-guy.com/ has lots of information on his web site concerning batteries. If you know the number of the original battery for the MG1, go to this site, http://www.photobattery.com/ type in that number, and it will list the batteries that will work in place of the original battery. I have an MG1 and am using an Excell battery A32/A164. It says on it that it replaces the PX32A, the EN/164A and the PC 164A. All Yashica Electros are very good cameras. I don't know about five-year olds using one.
