Yeah, I'm liking the Konica Hexar AF

Thread revival...

So any consensus on using the flash? I would like to photograph the dance floor using my Hexar and the HX-14 flash to achieve a "dragging the shutter" effect, where the motion is blurred and then the subject is frozen by the flash...
Tips on how to pull this off would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

No experience of exactly that, but earlier in the thread a lot of detail on the flash cleverness in P mode. Trouble is that the maximum shutter opening duration in that mode looks like 1/4s. Might give you the effect you want, but a longer speed would be better. In that case you will have to forgo the variable aperture genius of P mode and shoot in A mode, probably fully manual with the flash set to P full and maybe you can test first in A mode what aperture gives the slow shutter speed you want.

PS: testing with the X100—1/4s in P mode might be OK.
