"WEBSTER — A civil rights attorney Friday called a law that criminalizes certain photographs, under which a local man was arrested, problematic, saying it could have ramifications in the world of art and literature.

Paul Guy Clark Jr., 65, was arrested Wednesday evening at a Webster park after a parent called police complaining Clark was photographing teen and preteen girls."

We have another thread on this subject, but thank you for the link to the article.

Here's the other thread:

Having read through the comments, I see pretty much what I expected to see. A few intelligent people and a lot of blowhards. Comments are based basically around:

1) I don't want anyone taking pictures of my kids without my permission.
2) If it isn't illegal, it ought to be.
3) No one is allowed to take photos in public without a release.

Morons.

are you a mod now or just naturally unpleasant?

I don't think bill was being unpleasant, he thanked the OP for the link and told him where a bigger discussion of the law in question is happening here on RFF. Not like he called the OP a dumbass for not posting in the right place and being too lazy to search before posting as I have seen others do to people in the past.

i'm reacting to the general negativity i've noticed creeping in around here and i think bill is one of the culprits.

I try to be specifically negative, and try not to just spew abuse in all directions.

To what do you specifically object about my posts?

I've noticed negativity here as well and it does suck. Having said that, I don't think think Bill is a problem. Although I don't agree with every thing he post, he at least has the info to back up what he says. Nothing wrong with that in my book. He is direct and that can seem abrasive but look past that and you'll find a very intelligent person.

But yes, there are some people around here that as of late have made this forum a negative place and I hope it stops ASAP. It's enough to make me want to look elsewhere for my camera talk.

I got one of my bestest cameras from Bob so I know he's not grumpy :) He's a good guy.

I should clarify that I also do not think Bob is a grumpy or mean person. I was talking about other folks around the forum that seem to pick on folks. I hope you did not think I was directing anything towards you Bob!

i only object to what seems like bullying i occasionally notice in your posts. i'm not going to waste time finding examples because i don't want to pick at you specifically, even though i suppose i just did. there has been a big influx of bullying and negativity lately and i don't like it. it makes it less enjoyable to come to the last good photography forum left.

"I've come here for an argument."

"No you haven't."

Yes I have.

No you haven't.

Look, simply disagreeing with me is not an argument.

Yes it is.
