Picked fast for both, though if the poll would have allowed me,
I would have picked slow for both lenses as well, since i use slow 35/50s As well if shooting outdoors on sunny days

I use a CV35/2.5 & a 50/1.5 sonnar copy lens, J-3. I also have a 50/2 & slower 50mm lenses.

I realized recently that I was shooting 50s a good chunk of the time solely for the speed. My most common one was a Jupiter 3 - great lens - though I was starting to dabble with a Canon 50mm 1.4. I liked its performance but preferred the smaller lens.
At the same time, I didn't like that I was shooting a 50 just because I didn't have a faster 35mm. I picked up a VC 35mm 1.4 and have been having a blast with it. I think it may become my default, go-to lens.

I'm lucky enough to have both the 35 and 50 Lux now.

For RF use, smaller (slower) the better. Currently use the VC 35 2.5 which is a fine lens. For my 50 I use a 70s era Summicron, although I tend to use SLRs when wanting the use of 50-90mm focal lengths. The Nikkor 50 f1.4 is a particular favorite, mated to a plain prism F.
Agree about size and I would add that for me choice of focal length is linked to the camera I use. I have the VC 35/2.5 teamed up with my Bessa-T and a Elmar 50/3.5 for the Leica IIIf. My choices also involve the not unimportant matter of finances. Slow is affordable.

My favorite 35mm lens are Konica M-Hexanon 35 2 and Konica uc-Hexanon 35 2. 50mm lens should be Konica M-Hexanon 50mm f1.2. : )

Hi,
My usual favorites are a 35 mm f2.5 Nikkor in LTM (adapted to Leica bayonet), a 50 mm DR Summicron, and a 50 mm f1.4 Nikkor in LTM when I expect to need the extra f stop.

I vote for fast 35 and slow 50
For me, a 35mm lens is for reportage and snapshots, fast focusing, available light, moving subjects, more than one person.
I use 50 more cautiously, for more mastered pictures.

I forgot to say that I prefer a 35mm for street, demonstrations etc. But, perversely I use 50mm as an everyday lens

My preferences for lenses changes over time. It would be rather boring otherwise to use the same lenses over and over while I have other lenses to choose from.
If DAG manages to repair my Zeiss 85/1.4, it will be used on my E-P2, giving me a 170mm perspective that I want to team up with my 35mm Summilux on the M9. Maybe this is a strange combo: 35mm and 170mm.
Both lenses are fast.
It will be very interesting (to me) to use it this summer on a trip to Europe.
As for the 35&50 combo, I use the 35/1.4 and 35/2 Summicron, plus the Rigid Summicron 50.
