What a great thread - some lovely work. It's a real treat to see people sharing photographs of their precious family as being their favourites. Most of my favourite work is of close family and friends, of life as we live it. Yet this work is so often derided/ignored in the more strident photographic world.

Here's today's favourite - not necessarily my best of 2008! - which I shot as my daughter (age 6) and class mates got ready for their school Christmas play last week. DSLR in the dark church building. Missed focus, but still love the print on my desk🙂

Our daughter Berta, born in February:

Not for all of us. Look at my photos and find 'family'. No, they do not exist.

Where are Henri Cartier-Bresson's family photos? Or Martin Parr's? Or Lise Sarfati's? And so on.
