cheers, michael

edit.... sorry, I didn't realize that the title of the thread was for a film leica....in that case...a black mp3 with a noctilux 1.0

a dream leica film kit...hmm...

i would want a built in meter with aperture priority...so i think that would mean an m7...
lenswise...a nice small 35 mm...so i think i would go with the new summarit 2.5...i played with one at the local pro shop recently (on an m9) and it was small and smooth...oh so smooth!
if digital...same lens on the m9 would do nicely...

Any combination of either M-body / lens that I already have and the cameras loaded with Neopan Superpresto or Kodachrome ...

BP MP with Leicavit, 50mm Summilux, 50/1 Noctilux,75mm Summicron .
Well I have a BP MP at present. As for the Leicavit and lenses.....

Oh, and I would like Kodak to start making Kodachrome and Ektachrome for 35mm cameras again please. A boy can dream can't he?

when you cross my dream camera with what I can afford I find that somewhat miraculously and through judicious purchasing I have amassed what for me is a dream kit. Now that I am not spending all my time awake and asleep a quiver with lust for more Leica film gear I find that what makes my heart skip a beat is merely skin deep and not something that would make a difference in my photography. However if I had won the powerball last night there is a BP M4 that I know about that is for sale, I go and look at it from time to time but the fact that it is really the same camera as my chrome M4 but costs five times what I paid for mine has kind of put me off getting it. And as long as we are dreaming I don't need the Tri-X factory in my back yard but it would be nice if Kodak gave me a key to it.

The only thing that keeps me away from buying a Leica is the fiddly filmloading. Tryed it & don't like it.
But, nevertheless, my dream M would be a M3 Singlestroke, because of the 1:1 Viewfinder. Black or chrome, I dont giva a ****. And a 50/1.4, whichever.

Does it have to be a real camera?

Leica M7 with an MM style flat black body, M2 top engraving, M3 0.91x viewfinder and the current 50 Lux Asph and 50 Noct combo.

Real camera? Black MP.

My chrome DS M3 with 50/1.5 C-Sonnar is perfect.

I also like my chrome M2 with 35/2.8 C-Biogon

And my black M5 with 35/1.2 Voigtlander.

In the past I've owned M6ttl, M7 and MP plus 50/1.4 ASPH and 50/1.0 Noctilux but they weren't right for me so I have my dream kit defined and sourced.

Having recently returned to film I'm lucky to have my 'dream' M6 in immaculate condition. It's the lenses where the dreaming starts for me. I'm currently using a Canon 50 1.4 and a CV 35 1.4 SC, both of which are very good, cheap lenses but who wouldn't like to try some Summilux glass...or even have my old 35mm Nokton 1.2 back.

Right now that's easy ...

Right now that's easy ...

A Leica KE-7A M4 Midland Black with an Elcan 50/2 lens, a beautiful kit with a superb lens

I am lucky, already have my dream kit;

BP M4 with BP Leicavit MP - 35 pre-ASPH Lux
BP M4 with 21 f/3.4 Super Angulon
M6 with 50 Summicron

The M3 finder isn't 1:1, but I guess in dream-world, why couldn't it be...

I think it's 1:0,9 isn't it? But whaddaf.. it is known to me as the largest Leicafinder. Lead me on the right way if my steps are failing.
The findersize is also a reason why i use the Nikon S2, & the easy filmloading of course.

I already have a chunk of my dream kit:
M6TTL .58 chrome + ZM35/2.8C

If I ever have the means, I would love to get try my hand at a chrome M3 or M6TTL .85 chrome with some sort of 50/2 and a 90/2.8 tele-elmarit. Until I am rich, I am really happy with what I have though.
