You went the Legend way ma Freng.Alpa 12 TC with Phase One digital back. Cost of entry was too high even with just one lens, and technology was still in its infancy. I was right because as sensor resolution improved people I knew got on the Phase One update program and kept up with new $6000 lenses. Some came back from trips with extraordinary photos so I guess it’s worth it if you had the skills. I went backwards and bought a Rolleiflex TLR.
I get burried with a rolleiflex that’s for sure.

Me too. I kept my Rollei’s even after 20 years.

fav camera don't want to buy or (sell):
Mamiya 1000s w/finder and 80mm 2.8
I want to sell it but can't, and if I did sell it I'd buy it back
(already did that once so far, takes one to know one)

The Hasselblad SWC. (Most interesting thoughts of Pai above.)
The new M11-D. Form and simplicity.
Some sort of 4 x 5.
Emphasis on not buying far outweighing the wanting.

Interesting question...
I would love to get a Hasselblad X series camera and a couple of lenses, put it in 1:1 & monochrome and be happy. But even the X1D 50 used makes Leica look like a poor man's camera system
For film, the magic word that I have always wanted but never been willing to afford - camera, film, processing infrastructure - is Deardorff. An 8X10 with a Cooke Triple Convertible Series XVa in a Copal no 3 shutter. Would have been glorious to lug to the right places

Pentax LX. Too many bad items on the market at high prices. But still my favourite SLR.
Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 1.8/80mm. I owned this lovely lens, but sold it in the 1990s when I switched from M42 to Pentax K. Now it has become way too expensive. So I use a SMC Takumar 1.8/85 instead. Or a Jupiter-9 on my Canon 7s.

"Too expensive", for many of us a reason not to buy the camera they want.
When I was younger, money was often the limiting factor when I wanted to buy photographic stuff. I´m not rich now, but our house is paid, our children live on their own, and so it would be possible to make equipment dreams of the past come true. Many of these equipment dreams have faded into meaninglessness over the years, so my advice would be: Do it! Now!

Mamiya 7-- Still too expensive and I never really bonded with rangefinder cameras (I know, I know; It's RANGEFINDER Forum and everybody loves Leica. I do too. They're gorgeous cameras. I really want to like them)
Nikon F3HP-- My favorite camera of all time, but I stopped shooting film cameras a few years ago

I'm thinking about picking one up. Have been for years. But I don't dive as much as I used to. And I do feel the need to get rid of some gear, not buy more.

I absolutely love how it looks, the mechanical nature of it etc. And photos other people take with it. But it's not for me. I photograph differently, not so wide. But I do hope the revival project is successful.

contax G2. I found the lenses of great quality but I think the system is too fragile... and too much expensive at this moment

Mine as well -- and I just went through this whole thread, and you're the first to mention it.I want a Rollei SL66. To me, it's the ultimate 6x6 SLR; Zeiss lenses, impeccable quality, lens movements, and, oh yeah, gorgeous! Also, expensive as all hell, and reputedly as cranky as me. With three (!) 6x6 SLR systems in play, there's no way I can justify it to myself, but oh, would I love to have one...

Not that I'd forgotten about it, but I long ago signed off that as much as I had wanted one, I'd never buy one.Mine as well -- and I just went through this whole thread, and you're the first to mention it.
You see, I really really wanted that camera and my uncle had one, and a nice brace of lenses. And he knew I wanted one. And then he decided to sell the whole kit, and he never bothered to even ask me if I wanted it, could afford it, etc. I found out some months after the fact ... "Why didn't you at least tell me you were going to sell it?" He just looked away and didn't say anything.
So it all left a nasty memory for me to deal with and I've never again looked at a Rolleiflex SL66 kit.

At this point, you're probably better off. Even with the internet available to us, sourcing accessories still in good condition and finding repair people for the inevitable maintenance would be a nightmare. Add to that the fear factor: would I want to take such a rare and expensive camera out into the field, which is where it would really shine? Sadly, I think this camera (and many people's dream cameras) would be better off on a shelf, as a collectible. And I don't collect cameras, I use them. Still...Not that I'd forgotten about it, but I long ago signed off that as much as I had wanted one, I'd never buy one.

Contax N digital, Contax N1 and the lenses. All rather rare, expensive and nobody is going ro touch it. At least the lenses could/still can? be converted to Eos mount.

Hello
I received a Canon 7 rangefinder with Industar 55mm f2.8 for street photography. I've wanted a telemetry for a long time. I like it very much
