My favorite moment that I captured last year was during Mother's Day. I was in San Francisco with my family and we put our heads together to surprise my mom with a bunch of different small gifts that all held a special or unique meaning for her. (However it's a totally random assortment to anyone just looking at the basket). I have a sequence of this moment and the progression is just perfect to me but this laugh is one you cannot fake.
For me, my favorite was this photo taken in the old Tykocin synagogue built in 1642. This would have been the same place my great grandmother would have been on many many days before emigrating to the US.
The color, the lines, the subtle sense of motion and scale.
There is something hectic in the jumble, the zig-zagging wires, the street, and traffic. But the cool, deep color seems to cast a calm over everything.
