Your favourite photo of 2018 (taken by you), and why

Found these forms in a steel yard, didn't even have to arrange them....

2018 was a slow year for me photographically. Too many other things going on. I do have a self-portrait project going on, and this one is from that.

Outstanding work from everyone. My computer crashed so I didn’t shoot anything in 2018. My wife gave me an iPad for our 31st anniversary & now have a computer to scan my negatives, that is as soon as I shoot a room & develop it. I’ve missed being here.:D

I would like to add a second photo to the tread, this one from an Olympus XA2 that was given to me by an RFF member. The picture represents a 2018 personal revelation that my photography does not require fancy, expensive, high-end gear. Using it and enjoying the experience and results so much, I have often felt this little $30 film camera may be all I need, or have ever needed, to achieve my photographic goals.

Great photo and a quite liberating experience, isn´t it, John!?

The image I post next year will certainly have more meaning, but for now my favourite is the one below. It's because I got my first M and first Summicron (version 4) last year and this was the first image taken with that combination.

I've been in a photo-slump for much of 2018, and haven't liked much of what I have taken.
This is my favourite of the year.
After a 45 min drive through a rocky and uneven road, we were treated to this view. We had the entire beach to ourselves, pink sand and all.

What an idyllic scene, James! Somewhere in the Caribbean maybe?

Love this. Bravo!

2018 was a good year for me, photographically. Tough choosing a favorite, but 2018 was the year in which I made my first trip to New Mexico, and got to think about the juxtaposition of old and new. And I think I got the timing right on this one...

Your favourite photo of 2018 (taken by you), and why

2018 was the year my daughter turned 1. Many of my photos of the streets and subways of NYC turned happily to her. But sometimes, when I have a camera around my neck and I am out and about, I manage to find something I like.
