Your weekend

Cool shot Bob. Rich -- I like those photos...she is a very cute lady.
In any case, we had some very odd weather here. Santa Barbara was in the 40s on Saturday, which is crazy for daylight temps here. It rained in the morning, got spectacularly sunny, then hailed, then got sunny again. I went up the mountains (about 3500 feet), and there was about an inch or two of snow. This is really rare here. I have been living here for about 4 years and this is the first time I have seen a significant amount of snow. Here are a few photos. Just the digital, I have two rolls of Velvia 100 at the lab (M7 and Xpan). These were with the DMR.
These were all taken within less than 2 miles of each other, all within a 2 hour period.

Chores today, but yesterday I stopped by the local lab to pick up processing, and took the long way home by way of a state park that was a pioneer homestead, had a long interesting chat with the park ranger and shot up the rest of a roll of film, then revisited the local lab with that roll for processing. Satisfying afternoon.

Up latish, breakfast, out for a long walk with wife and kid, came home, worked on some photos and the blog, got kid to practise her violin, watched movie, ate dinner, a bit more internet, went to bed. What else can you do on a Sunday? Was supposed to play squash in the morning but everyone cancelled. 🙁

Woke up on Sunday morning to 4 inches of snow! Took a few digi pix of my dog larking around in it. Can't belive the weather here in the UK. A few days ago I was walking (and shooting) in bright sunshine, then 2 days of constant rain, then one grey day and then snow!
Four seasons in one day!

had brunch with a bunch of friends on sunday, showed some photos from our last get-together and shot about a half of a roll with a minox 35gt. It seems nobody notices that camera! Was a beautiful sunny day. went for a walk in the snow with my lubitel and wife. 🙂

The wife had a worse than usual weekend with her fibromyalgia. But, Saturday morning I did get my grandson out in my beat up old camper to a local park to feed the ducks and geese. Got some photos of him, one or two hopefully good memory keepers. Inadvertantly put a roll of 36 exposures in the GIII 17 so they won't be developed for a while.

Fedzilla_Bob, thanks for the smile, intended or not.

Rich, nice photos.

dazedgoneby, nice photos on your web site. I especially like the b/w desert shots.

We had some very nice weather this weekend. Started the spring cleaning. Got all of the winter debris out of the garage, did some yard cleanup. Finished the top on the router table I have been building and attached it to the frame. Spent Sunday jigging up so I can knock out the drawers for my router table and fixed a antique kitchen chair. Didn't take any photos though.

Steve-- love your new website. The photos are a bit small on my screen, though.
QUOTE]

Would you mind telling me the size of your monitor and the resolution you use? I'm targeting a 17" screen and 1024x768 resolution. Over 90% of the visitors to my blog have that configuration or larger, so that seemed a good place to start.

Thanks,

We had unusually warm weather upstate but I had to prepare for a dinner party we hosted on Saturday. Sunday proved be be overcast and showery consonant with the post-party effects I was experiencing.

Carried the cameras in the car all weekend with good intentions, but, alas, to no avail.

I'm getting tired of the brown and grey and how many abandoned farm building shots can even I stand? It'll be at least four moreweeks until things really start "greening up" in the country.

Oh, blah!

Cali has been getting some weird weather. The Bay Area was getting thunder & lightning (..very very frightening 🙂 ), hail, and "snow."

Gawd, my 1001st post. I'm officially part of the furniture now.

Congrats, on your milestone, hoot!

No real photography for me this weekend (other than prepping about 7 rolls for processing) I stayed dry, finished taxes, celebrated my wife's birthday, worked on home repairs, and sighed everytime I looked out the window at all that great (between storms, big clouds, sun-breaking-through-on-occassioin) light.

🙂

Shot a roll of 36 on Saturday of the Hartford St. Pat's Day parade. Film was outdated American Family 200 speed (made by Ferrania) that I picked up cheap in Maine -- $1 per roll. Used a new to me OM2n which came with a Tokina AT-X 28-85. Sunny conditions, but I was in shade (and it was cold out of the sun). Generally decent quality; focusing errors all mine.

Otherwise, dealt with the tedium of helping my wife pack and ship some 24 boxes of books using Staples's UPS service.

We had gorgeous weather yesterday, and ended up driving to Medemblik (on the IJsselmeer, or Zuiderzee) and then to Enkhuizen (likewise). There were a few cameras in my bag so there will be no finished rolls for a while yet; I did take three lovely Polaroids but this is an RF forum, so....
And then we went out to dinner. The "For Sale" sign in our front yard suddenly sported a "Sold" sticker, and that is worth a celebration, nietwaar? 🙂

Quite an eventful weekend for me. My Epson 4990 arrived on Friday. Went to Oxford Saturday afternoon and the dull grey turned to blue. Shot 3 rolls of HP5 with my new Bronica RF 645. Sunday did my first ever developing at home and my first ever scanning of film. Sample shot below - RF 645 and 65mm lens set to F11 and hyperfocal at about 1/90 - just swung around and saw this guy - no time to frame, just shot from the chest. So, all things considered, not a bad weekend.

Regards

Gid

Nice series of your agent, Rich.

It's pour rain here so I couldn't go and pick up my two rolls from my Rolleicord.

But my weekend spent in the museum with Chien-Chi Chang's "The Chain" exhibit is worth it.

It was a pretty good weekend. Saturday I did some chores around the house, watched college basketball, grilled out and drank beer with friends and family. Sunday took a nice long walk downtown with a neighbor and our sons. I had intended to do some shots of storefronts for a project idea but decided it wasn't the day for it and snapped photos of people instead. That was very satisfying (until I get that roll developed of course!)

It was for me a good week end. Went for a walk in the alps, among trees full of snow. Small family contest: I shot with bessa R and my wife with her Nikon F ...something!
When slides will be back from lab we'll decide who is the winner ! Maybe I'll post some pics from the Bessa. I tried a lot the 75 / 2,5 which is not so familiar to me...
