Hi Everybody
Hello, I'm new to this forum and have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help with;
I recently bought a Zeiss 25mm f2.8 for my M8 and I'm having difficulty coding it, I modified the mount to bring up the 24mm bright lines and coded it as an Elmarit M 24, this hasn't been very reliable, I think because one of the black marks catches the edge of a screw, if I code it as an Elmar M 24 the other edge of the screw catches a black mark and I get the same problem, ie sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. This is temporary marking using a fine tip felt pen, I've used this method with an old Summicron 35mm Version 1 and haven't had any problems other than having to redo it occasionally. So far I haven't seen any great problems using it uncoded but it is handy to know what lens was used sometimes.
Does anyone in the UK permanently code these lenses at a reasonable cost?
Regards
Ron

Have you asked Malcolm Taylor? He's done a Voigtlander for me.

Hi
Thanks for that, I'd forgotten about Malcolm Taylor, I used him many years ago for a CLA on an M2 and some lens cleaning.
I have now tried coding it as a 24mm Summilux which avoids any of the screws, the results look OK but I haven't had time to really test it out, at least after removing and refitting the lens several times it seems to be reliable.
