It's time to start re-assembling the shutter. Before I install the slow speed escapement I need to know what speed the shutter is set to. I'm looking at the brass speed control disk and trying to made sense of the position of the selector pin in relation to the shutter speed markings on the top deck. Those speed markings are pretty well worn away. Wolves' very helpful CLA guide does not have a good photo of the selector disk. I've looked over Rick Oleson's drawings and am still puzzled. Can anyone tell me where the "B" slot is on the control disk?

As long as you set it to one of the "fast" speeds you'll be ok. You can easily see where the pin is between 1/30 and 1/1000, use that to figure them. Turn it clockwise to the last slot and you'll be fine. It's time to start re-assembling the shutter. Before I install the slow speed escapement I need to know what speed the shutter is set to. Thanks Wolves. I managed to get the reset the dial and seat the escapement properly. My second curtain was sluggish and dragging on slow speed, so I tensioned it up until it fires correctly with no capping. Only issue left is the advance is very tight. Cleaning and lubing all the pinions and gears helped a bit. I may try to take some of the tension off the first curtain before I re-assemble.
