I have a Zorki 6 that need attention. The camera is very clean and seems to work fine however there are some irritating items that need help. The film advance lever binds when advancing the film and the vertical alignment is off. Can the film advance operation be repaired to operate smoothly and how about the vertical alignment? Who is the best Zorki technician in the U.S.? Or can these adjustments be done by someone who is moderately mechanical?

Well, the people who MADE it were only moderately mechanical...
It's a good camera to learn on. If you're nervous, buy a broken one to practice with!

Is it the one you bought in summer 2016 from Fedka?

Yes. The second one. The first one had malformed threads and the lens wouldn’t mount.

Vertical alignment can be adjusted easily by turning the RF window, which lies under the ring-screw that covers it.
The film advance also can be smoothly if cleaned and lubricated properly.
There is a pinned post in FSU subforum with nice photos if you want to DIY.
PS. I've never bought from Fedka since it's on the other side of the ocean, but I heard that they always sell CLA'd cameras?

He's not in the US, but I will still suggest contacting Oleg at OK Vintage camera.

Hi,
In your shoes I'd get it looked at and adjusted etc by an expert as the Zorki is a nice example of a mature USSR made camera and well worth keeping and using. Any repairer ought to be able to do it, even the firm that supplied it...
