Zorki 6 size

Today at the street I saw in a shop window what I believe is a Zorki 6, since the model name in the front plate was erased but the side back opening device was there.

The camera was quite close to the by-passers, and my attention went to its size. It looks quite smaller than both a Kiev and a Fed-2.

The Zorki 6 is the only hinged-back FSU RF. It's a few mm narrower than a FED 2 and a few mm taller. Smaller than a Kiev for sure - what isn't? The 6 is a very nice camera IMO, very usable.

Kiev looks so big because of it's front chrome plate.

From what I see the zorki 6 is indeed noticeable narrower than the Kiev, and therefore than the Fed-2

I recently got a Z-6, and its a very nice camera. I have a feeling that Fed2 and Z-6 are going to be my FSU favourites 🙂 The VF is a bit bigger and brighter than Fed2. The shutter release is a bit louder though. But cocking of the shutter is really nice... and you can change the shutter speed anytime😉 Although my habit still says "only after cocking!"

I love my Z6, very user friendly. The size is just perfect. I have a J8 on it right now, but it looks smashing with the J12 on the front too. My lever wind needed just a light cleaning and oiling and it was perfect. It doesn't snap back into place, but I know why and it is a quick fix. I still carry the Z3 and Z3M, but the Z6 was a great buy.

I'll try to remember tomorrow to do a comparison photo of my Zorki-6 and FED-2 (It's night time here now, and I'm already in bed)
