LOL! That would make a good title. 😛
That's funny, ha! There was an old guy near me that was workin' the honeys in the crowd and the parade. Lil' point and shoot too. Come to think of it, there were a LOT of people shooting film and old cameras around me. My M9 certainly did not go unnoticed.
Wow, 2:50pm? That's pretty early. It went until close to 4ish. But I hear ya. I had more than one tourist tell me I needed to move/get out of the way. There were a bunch of "photogs" running amok in the street in front of me that I came very close to bludgeoning. CONSTANTLY in my way. I was on my best behavior though...
Next year come early. If you want drive to LIC, Court Square and we'll take the subway together. Plenty of free parking on the weekends.
The talent is definately more patient with shooters earlier in the day. I mostly shot my M6 rigged with a 75 Lux so I got really up close for tight shots, but for a challenge I shot Arcos at 100 ISO. A lot of my exposures were either wide open or close to it. It was really great having subjects that were openly exhibitionists.
Next year I'm going to shoot with my Plaubel 69W for a wide and my Rollei 3.5F. The Plaubel is basically a 24mm equiv, but with a 6x9 negative. Hopefully I will still have some 220 left.
