A Polaroid snapshot of an old, abandoned vending machine in front of a former storefront church on Wells Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It sold boxes of Hi-C fruit drink for 50 cents. The machine has not been used for many years; the boxes of Hi-C on display are faded white from age.
The church was called Living Faith Ministries.

A Polaroid snapshot of a stop sign that has been vandalized to say "Stop Obama." The funny thing is that this was done long after President Obama left office!
This sign is on Belle Vista Boulevard, at the intersection with Gates Drive, in the Waynedale area of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Waynedale was once an independent small town, but it was annexed by the city of Fort Wayne in 1957.

A Polaroid snapshot of a pair of electric rental scooters stand on the sidewalk on Wells Street, north of Fourth Street, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
These scooters are rented out through a smartphone app and are found littering the sidewalks all over Fort Wayne's downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods during the warmer months of the year.

That tulip shot is great! It shows off that uniquely luscious quality that Polaroid materials can have.

This 1975 Chevy Nova was parked next to a field on the south side of Convoy Road, between Werner Road and Mentzer Church Road, in rural Van Wert County, Ohio. I also photographed an abandoned one-room schoolhouse on the same property.

This abandoned schoolhouse is on the south side of Convoy Road, between Werner Road and Mentzer Church Road, in rural Van Wert County, Ohio.
Unusually for a midwestern schoolhouse, this one was built with wood; most of them are brick buildings. The school is in bad condition, with weathered wood siding and doors and a sagging roof. The belfry is still in place on the roof, but the bell is missing.
I photographed a 1975 Chevy Nova here on the same day I made this photograph of the school.

A Polaroid snapshot of one of the scarecrows at the Fort Wayne Community Gardens on Bluffton Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This one has been there for many years, with the clothing and hairstyle changing periodically! It has a plush toy rabbit hanging from its left hand.
The Community Gardens are owned by the city's Parks department. Residents can rent garden plots, which makes it possible for apartment dwellers and people with small yards to grow their own vegetables.

A Polaroid snapshot of the neon sign at the Magic Wand Restaurant in the small town of Churubusco, Indiana. I photographed it in the evening at nightfall.
Magic Wand has been in business since the 1960s and is now owned by the grandson of the original owners. My family used to go there a lot when I was a child. My son and I have been eating there for many years as well. The restaurant is located on Main Street (US-33) on the south side of Churubusco.

Whew. I'll bet the crows give that thing a wide berth!
