OK, shawn, I stand corrected, but only sort of!Uh.....
Shoots with open aperture metering in aperture priority or manual mode.
Loving the flexibility of using my Pentax 6x7 lenses on the 645N and 645D. I added the SMC 67 55mm F4 and SMC 67 200mm F4 to the kit.
The Pentax 6x7 lenses are rather beastly big. The Bronica 105 is very compact by comparison; without the hand grip and with only the waist level finder, the ETRS puts the Pentax to shame for portability. Love 'em both, and each has unique strengths.Darinwc

Any thoughts you'd care to share on the Manfrotto Befree tripod. It looks interesting to me.
BTW, I have the Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 lens. I mostly use it for photographing windsurfers and birds; it gets the job done.

Hi Mike,
The Manfrotto seems like a good tripod and I reviewed several alternatives in this price range. I bought a cheaper K&F carbon one which is not very good (flimsy and not to be trusted out in the field) and this is a replacement for that. I also have a Slik which is bigger and too heavy for me (I used this for large format). So the Manfrotto weight wise is a good compromise. I got the aluminium version and got a very good deal which finally convinced me to buy. The carbon version is only about 250g lighter and is a lot more expensive So it did not seem worth the difference.
I have used it once or twice indoors and it has been fine. It is compact and sturdy. I am going on a trip next week and will take it with me to the beach so I will know more then about its performance.
BTW did you get the collar for the 100-400. I think I will need one.

Yes, I got the collar for the 100-400mm. I screw a small rubber handle into the tripod socket and it helps a lot for hand holding the lens.

One latest purchase - a box. Yes a box. For a Hasselblad 1000f, plus it came with a 1000f manual. Very hard to find a 1000f box, so it was a lucky (if a bit pricey) snag.
I’m pretty sure an upcoming purchase will be a Nikon Z8 of some flavour, as the internet camera gurus are predicting its imminent release, plus that 26mm f/2.8 Nikon Z pancake looks interesting. Need to push through a few more paying gigs this month though to pay for them.

Probably a dumb move (ya think?), but the Rollei 6006 has always been a dream camera. It will likely also prove to be a nightmare of cranky electronics. But this one, currently on its way to me, is reputedly in perfect working order, in superb condition, and accompanied by a newly re-celled battery. What's to go wrong, eh? Lust has no logic, and a man has needs, right?
Anyone here ever had the pleasure of owning one? Gosh, they sure are purty...

I think you’ve done well. When these first came out I read about them and thought Rollei did a masterful job in designing it. The lenses for the Rollei 600x were pretty remarkable deals when all things are considered--especially compared to what they were when film was king. Still are, especially the Schneider glass.

Years ago, long before I switched to using digital cameras, I bought a Kiev 4 with full complement of lenses from 35mm to 135mm from the Ukraine. They came in a box with cases and instruction manuals that I couldn't read, but everything was in great shape. What I didn't have was a viewfinder to use the lenses other than the 50mm.
So, I shot a couple of rolls of film and pretty much retired the camera. But I kept searching Ebay for the proper cockeyed shoe mount viewfinder and finally found one, a Carl Zeiss no less. It's about as pretty as a mud covered fence, but it's easy to see through so I'll assume it is usable.
We'll see where this goes, but at least now it can go!

I have both of them and love my 240. But I far prefer my other 50's over the 7Artisan lens (Canon 50/1.4, Chiyoko Super Rokkor 50/2, Leica 50/2.8, Nikon 50/2, & lots of others
) It's an interesting specialist and I'd never sell it but for day to day use, my favorite is either the Canon or the Chiyoko.

Well, you could think of it as the "Anti-Ermanox". Very sophisticated electronics and automation, which is what attracted me to the 6006; also what scares me -- think very expensive brick. I see the Rollei as an automated complement to my Hassy, but in no way a substitute!
And no, the hankering isn't weird. Just dangerous.
