Camera and Coffee

This little Vivitar is a very interesting camera.

I haven't had the chance to fully test it, it is known for having issues with the metering needle that breaks but mine is in good working order. The testing film i put through it (took a couple of pics and then loaded the rest of the film on another camera) came out well. I need to get back to it and test it a bit more. The lens is quite an interesting piece of glass.

I admit that the background clutter is distracting, but I was trying to catch the last beams of early morning sunlight streaming through the blinds. Salyut-S plus a new-to-me Minox IIIs.

I previously built a 16 mm / Minox film slitter, and think I may wind up modifying a Jobo developing reel to work with the Minox film. Still need to obtain film cassettes, and the camera itself feels sludgy, so a CLA is in order (hopefully an easy 1-afternoon project). And as luck would have it, I already own a Minox chain, which used to be part of my dad's Minox C outfit.

Had actually been seeking a Minox A, with it's metric distance scale, but thought this IIIs was priced very decently! In any event, it'll probably have the lens in the hyperfocal position most of the time.

Hey never mind the cameras - tell us about the coffee :)

And I would love to know what lens that's on the Salyut!
Just a garden-variety 90/2.8 Vega-12B which annoyingly, lacks DOF preview. Ran a roll of Cinestill 50D through the combo this past weekend, but may need to wait until next weekend to pick up the processed film.

Never thought to grate it! I use a tea knife, though my tea cakes tend to be more tightly compressed. The goal is to break up the cake, leaving as many of the leaves intact as possible, rather than creating a lot of crumbs.

Wow that looks pretty nice! I bought a tea brick once (it was black and solid like a block) and you had to grate it into your cup/pot. Much different than your 'cake'.

My son came in for the weekend a while back. We went for coffee at the local roasters. This was taken with the Leica CL and the Voigtlander 35 Classic Nokton MC. The photo is of my son's SL2-S with the 50 Summicron Rigid and my Elmarit-M 1:2.8 / 24 on the table. Not pictured is the Leica M10-R.

My father had a Minox back in the early 70s. I wish I knew what happened to it.

This woman was enjoying her coffee and a book at the local on Friday afternoon. She was oblivious to all that was going on around her. The camera in this photo was her smart phone. The photo was taken with a rangefinder. So I guess this qualifies. As an FYI, I was enjoying a pour over from Burundi at the time.
