Pentax Monochrome

Yikes. Can't do that with film! Having given up on digital, the one thing I really miss is being able to shoot hand-held in pitch blackness.
I think you're making the noise/grain work well!
I'd love to shoot mostly film, if the pace of my life was a bit slower and left room for the development and enjoyment of the process. As it is, I feel like I have to squeeze the processing and scanning of a roll of film into odd moments. That's part of what pushed me over the edge to the Pentax, because my love for shooting B&W is matched by my dislike of converting color files on the computer.

I love that the noise on this camera looks so like the grain that we are all used to and appreciate. There is basically no reason not to shoot it this way for the aesthetic. It has taken digital a long time to come around to that.

@agentlossing Nice images. What lenses are you using?
Thank you, so far all images posted have been with the HD FA 43mm f1.9 Ltd. I actually find my FA 31mm f1.8 Ltd. a better fit focal-length-wise for this camera, but the 43mm is significantly smaller and lighter. I don't own any APS-C Pentax lenses right now, only FF ones for my K-1. A small DA Ltd. prime might be in my future, but the bank is broken for now.

Any chance of sharing a high ISO raw file? Curious how it would clean up with a couple of different NR options.
I could probably PM you a link, let me see what I can do later in the week. I know the files don't work at all with DXO PureRAW or PhotoLab.

I have mainly been editing the DNGs with my dinosaur Lightroom 6.14. No NR.

Thanks, no rush. Just curious. I was thinking DXO DeepPrime but see it doesn't support the monochrome (can probably be tricked with EXIF though) and I have a couple of others I'd try it with. I suspect those should clean up really nicely.
