I have a very nice old CZJ 5cm f/1.5 on loan and would like to shoot it on an M9, M240 and the X2D. It is a very old pre-war. I'd like to see how well it works.

Go for it and enjoy. I am always amazed at how well my Zeiss-Opton Sonnar 50/1.5 does on my Contax II. Of course mine is post-war, not pre-war, but yours should still give you some great results. The darkroom awaits.
In additional to nearly weekly new work, I am slowly (very slowly) going through all my negatives since the time of dinosaurs and making new 8x10 work prints - that is, prints fully interpreted but not spotted or mounted. These go into books that will eventually be a provide a full view of the entire body of my lifetime of shooting. When I get there, I will go through these and pick a few "best of" to be printed larger and hung on a wall. Some of these also make it into my online gallery as it is easy to scan an 8x10 print:

I learned early on in life that I always want my relationships with other people, whether business or pleasure, to be win - win whenever possible. That way we both always come out ahead at the end of the day. So, I never try to squeeze every dime out of a competitor in a business transaction and I'm always willing and happy to take a bit less so we all feel as good as possible in the end. I think that guarantees the greatest chance of continued good relationships and repeat interactions. That philosophy has severed me very well. So, I'm pleased to report that whatever sacrifices were required, I'm elated to have made. Some of us make great sacrifices in life, yours among the greatest. ;o)
But the "sacrifice" was actually made in advance. When the young lady on the right was getting married several years ago, she asked my friend Jim, who is a friend of the family, to photograph her wedding. Jim asked me to help, but I had sworn off weddings many years earlier. I'd rather take a beating than photograph one. But, Jim is a very good friend so I decided to make the "sacrifice". Well, it is paying dividends to this day. She brought her lovely raven-haired sister over and we have all been doing regular photoshoots together ever since.
p.s., I know you were kidding. Just wanted to take the opportunity to put my little take on things out there for anyone who might be interested.

There is an old German expression, eine Hand wascht die Andere, or one hand washes the other. It is a good thing to remember. On the occasions I make a bid on eBay it is a reasonable bid allowing the seller dignity and without his need to counteroffer. As you know, I may have to do business with them again. I am not looking for a hassle for the sake of a few bucks or in other circumstances a short gain. It always works out poorly when that approach is followed, as you know. But, I guess this means you won't shoot my wedding, huh? LMAO

Haha, very true. We've done shoots in deep sand that have been absolutely exhausting just from the walking, much less lugging a bunch of gear. If I didn't already have a friend joining us, that'd be a very tempting offer.Available to PA. I know all the equipment gets hard to carry in the sand.

There's a school of negotiation that suggests it's best to go for every penny. That may be most efficient for maximizing return in a single deal. But it's been my experience that it may be more profitable in the long run to treat others more fairly. There is an old German expression, eine Hand wascht die Andere, or one hand washes the other. I have personal experience dealing for a lifetime with the super hard, ruthless, almost nasty negotiator types. Often their clients, such as insurance adjusters love that type and seek them out. But more often than not they end up getting less in the long run because they are disliked and often hated by others they deal with. So other people just kinda lay in wait looking for an opportunity to screw them. And I've seen it happen on many occasions. Meanwhile, people who are nicer and treat others more fairly don't get that type of negative treatment and in fact are sometimes clued into special deals not available to everyone.
Sorry for the off topic rant. Back to photography.
And are you planning to tie the knot sometime soon?

I just finished catching up on doing the backups for several months of neglected photo files. I use multiple brands of portable drives for this and I had forgotten the procedure for a couple of them. Kinda frustrating. Plus I just got a new iPhone 16 and I've been struggling with it. I'm exhausted by the technology.😲

I keep files in two places, hard drives, at home and the JPG's on Flickr. I may get another drive. OTOH who really cares? LMAO I look at them, maybe a few other folks do.
