What have you just BOUGHT?

I picked up a beautiful condition Olympus Zuiko Digital 50mm f2.0 Macro lens for my old E-500 DSLR, which I usually use with manual-focus glass. It's is a highly regarded prime lens for the original Four-Thirds system, where it's effectively a 100mm lens. I can also use it with an adapter on my M43 bodies.

This was purchased at an old-school camera store called Stroudsburg Foto on Main Street in Stroudsburg, PA. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in. It's been family owned for 60 years and has a really cool selection of modern and used items for sale. We were on vacation and I wasn't planning on buying anything (do we ever?) but I saw this lens with some other Four-Thirds gear in his showcase and he gave me a really good price.

Here's a test almost-macro of a cute little wildflower which decided to grow in our gravel driveway.

Been wanting a TLR again for years. Tried a few Yashicas and made the fatal decision to loan them to a film class. I got them back with inoperable shutters.
Anyway, I just received an early Minolta Autocord (with older shutter speeds) in extraordinary condition. Loaded up a roll of film and I'm out shooting while gardening with the wife today.

My irrational mind kicked off and made a cheeky offer for a black Praktica LTL to go with the Pancolar.

The Super TL that the Pancolar came with has a mirror that sometimes forgets to come down and a meter that is not always working. No real excuse to have it though as I already own a nice black Spotmatic.

The Panasonic L1 and Olympus E-1 were/are the very best of FourThirds SLRs for me. Despite a higher spec (more resolution, more dynamic range) on the E-3 and E-5, the E-1 simply pulled ahead when it came to making photographs, much like the L1 did too.

My L1s sold to friends, both of them are still in use. My E-1 remains in my possession, still working perfectly, many thousands of exposures on.. The E-3 and E-5 were traded on and gone. I'm considering re-acquiring the ZD 50mm f/2 lens for the E-1 now, and I'd love the ZD 150mm f/2 lens as well which I never had in its heyday as it was simply more than I could afford then.

Obsessions. Yes.

You will love it. Among all the other Leica I have used - IIIf, M4, M5 - I find the M2 to be the purest and most unencumbered shooting experience of the bunch.

If I had to answer the "one camera, one lens" question, it would inevitably be an M2 with a 35mm f/2 Summicron ASPH.

I've had an M5 in the past and adored it (long story of why I sold it). So the M2 for film, the M240 for digital, and 3 good lenses so far shared between them, makes me a happy boy :)
 
This week I bought a 58mm petal lens hood from "rhl-shop/Harrison Cameras" on ebay to fit onto the 38.1mm - 58mm step up ring on the front of my Fujifilm S8100fd camera. It was described as being made of "Sturdy Metal" in the ebay listing, and they confirmed this to me in a reply to a message I sent them to double check. It turned up this morning made of "Flimsy Plastic". I wouldn't mind so much if I hadn't paid more for it than than I would have for one of those labelled as plastic. I've had to buy a cheaper, second one, from a saved seller that I would've used in the first place had their version not been labelled "Plastic", just to have a spare.
