What have you just BOUGHT?

This week I bought a 58mm petal lens hood from "rhl-shop/Harrison Cameras" on ebay to fit onto the 38.1mm - 58mm step up ring on the front of my Fujifilm S8100fd camera. It was described as being made of "Sturdy Metal" in the ebay listing, and they confirmed this to me in a reply to a message I sent them to double check. It turned up this morning made of "Flimsy Plastic". I wouldn't mind so much if I hadn't paid more for it than than I would have for one of those labelled as plastic. I've had to buy a cheaper, second one, from a saved seller that I would've used in the first place had their version not been labelled "Plastic", just to have a spare.

I used to buy a few things from RHL and at first it was great, cheap and descriptions were good but it seems to have gone a little downhill in recent times and not bought anything for a while, I've pointed out a few listing errors as well in the past and they don't change them!

Plustek 8200i, SE. After 22 years my DiMage 5400 film scanner had to be shelved due to some jittery scan weirdness resulting in rows and rows of elongated pixels that resemble an epidermal cross section more than a photograph. Oh well. The transport maybe needs a cleaning...above my skill level. The luddite in me is trying to feel good about manual advancing film...it's better than all those pesky motors...better than spending 2K+ on one that does...etc. lol.

Hmmm, Have you tried hitting it with a hammer? That should fix it.
