What have you just BOUGHT?

A Nikon FM with a 24mm F2.8 AIS lens. Been thinking of getting a second M film body to go along with my M2 so I could have one loaded with B&W film and the other with color but decided did want to spend that much $$ so I bought the FM also like that the FM is better suited from somethings. Current plans are to use the FM for color landscapes, the M2 for some B&W stuff and my Yashica mat 124g for B&W landscape shots.

Ok so it is here. Got it last night.

Very pleased with the condition. Bellows seem to have been replaced at some point - they are an external layer of leather and a canvas-like material inside.

Lens is pristine and focusing is acceptable. Not in the same league as a Takumar butterness but very usable. I like the serial number of the lens 😎

Only issue are the 1s, 1/2s and 1/5s which are unusable, it's more like 5sec. 1/10th is trying it's best but still sounds more like 1sec. Anything above that sounds accurate enough.

Now I ordered some film to test it.

Looks nice and clean, almost all of the ones I have seen of this model are in feet. Get a flashlight in the folding corners of the bellows though as they look like Agfa plastic fantastics. Good luck!

Whoops, didn't notice the comment about the bellows seeming ok and on closer inspection they look changed.

No more purchases. At least this month. So I said. And then found in local classifieds Zenit TTL with a regular Helios 44-2 and not so regular Helios 81- Automat. I thought Helios 81 was only produced in Kiev 10 mount, but googled that M42 version was shortly produced in early 80’s. 60€ for two lenses and Zenit, not very cheap, but I was intrigued by this Helios 81 in M42.
P.S. looking at the lens logo (Arsenal), and serial number - it does not look like a lens from 80’s. Manual conversion?

Have owned this Ernemann Ermanox for quite a while, just thought I'd throw it in here for fun. Have lately been trying to research it, without much luck, so far... A pre-Leica rangefinder prototype or a tinkerers concoction? Thoughts or speculation welcome...
FWIW, I have a copy of "Ernemann Cameras" by Peter Göllner (I used to own a Klapp-Camera with Ernostar lens). The book includes an extensive list of the cameras produced by Ernemann. But I don't know if the list is complete. Anyway, none of the cameras in that list has a rangefinder.

The book also includes a table with all Ernemann patents between 1889 and 1926. Again, none of these patents seem to be about a rangefinder.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure it was never produced for the market by Ernemann, but kind of wondering if it came out of their R&D department? I had read that their R&D was quite busy in the mid 20's prior to the merger. Perhaps we'll never know.
