What have you just BOUGHT?

A little scale focus Ricoh ff-1. A lot cheaper than Minox 35. ...
The Minox GT-E lens performs very well. I wonder how the Ricoh FF-1 lens compares.

I was curious as I hadn't seen any Ricoh FF-1s for a long time ... looked on Ebay and, while the Minox 35 GT-E prices average higher, the overall range of pricing overlaps a good bit.

And more reliable...
Hmm. Early series Minox 35s in 1974 had some issues ... not least of which was getting the Makrolon material of the body and back properly light-proof. I had one of those once upon a time. But any made from the second year of production (1975 and later) on were properly light-proof and reliable. I had two of them through a bunch of years/many rolls of film, sold them as I needed money for something else, which ended up in my buying a new Minox 35GT-E in 1998. I've had that one and used it pretty extensively for a decade, still use it now and then, and it's never needed anything but new batteries and fresh film.

DAG has joked about it with me ... he always complained that the Minox 35 was poorly made, but when mine never broke, he just rolled his eyes and said, "Minox things like you." LOL! 😀

Haven’t shot it yet but reviews I read were favorable. This was a true auction and I ended up being the only bidder. Came with new batteries and a roll of film for like $40.
