Camera and Coffee

Nikon twins - an F with a 24mm f/2.8 AIS Nikkor and an F2 with a 28mm f/2.8 AIS Nikkor. The F got a workout yesterday, the F2 is next in the 35mm rotation (though my local camera store has an essentially perfect black F2 Photomic I am drooling over...)

Not a coffee drinker but that photo is making me drool.

Yes please.

Okey, dokey. Here is the whole Nikon famly. All the meters work. The Nikkormat is pretty beat up but still functions as expected. The F and its meter were just fully CLAed by ICT.

I try to rotate each camera in each format (35mm, 120, and 4x5) so that they all get some regular use. I also fire every shutter every month or two on 1sec and the top speed to keep the shutters nimble:

Wow. Thank you.

I have an F2 and two F3HP. I should use them.

@chuckroast,

What lens is the F3 wearing?

TIA,

Ah. Nice! (I enlarged my screen (old MacBook Pro) but still couldn't clearly read the text on the front of the lens.)

Thanks,

Yeah, the lighting in that room isn't conducive for making great product shots. I just don't feel like setting up a light tent and strobe to capture casual stuff like this 😉

As prices on AI/AIS lenses fell over the past decade, I opportunistically bought every Nikkor I ever wanted on the cheap. Most were in terrific shape but one or two needed a touch up. For example, my 35mm f/1.4 was well worn when I got it (at a very reasonable price) and needed me to take off the back plate and lubricate the mechanism that rotates to adjust aperture.

I also have a Nikon D750 digisnapper that has all the AI/AIS lenses programmed into it for manual use. I knew I reached my limit of manual Nikkors when I ran out of slots to install them in the D750 metadata table 😉

Anyway, here are the manual Nikkors I ended up with:

20mm f/2.8 AIS
24mm f/2.8 AI
28mm f/2.8 AIS
35mm f/1.4 AIS
50mm f/1.4 AIS
85mm f/1.4 AIS
105mm f/2.5 AIS
135mm f/2.8 AIS
180mm f/2.8 AI Nikkor-P

Again, with the possible exception of the 85mm, I didn't pay silly money for any of this. Patience was rewarded over time.

Of these, the 35mm f/1.4 gets the most use, because this is my every day shooter for any 35mm camera system I have every used. I have to say, though, that the 28mm f/2.8 I acquired this year is really growing on me...
