Fantastic camera, especially for 35mm focal length lenses.

I just got a cold shoe meter for the M2.

Yesterday, I bought the Keks KM02 cold shoe meter, mainly because it features aperture and shutter priority modes, continuous metering, and USB charging. I am a bit concerned about the button lay-out. Meanwhile, I'll continue comparing spot meter options.

Added a 105mm f/2.4 lens to my recently-acquired Pentax 6x7. I’ve been looking at these lenses online and the asking prices can be truly astounding, as in way out of my league. I came across this one from a seller in Japan — it wasn’t perfect (yellowing, a very small spot of fungus, a few cosmetic blemishes) but it was in my price range and it came with a Pentax skylight filter, both caps, hood and hood case. The seller sent me an offer and I countered with a lower offer and he accepted. The lens arrived yesterday and it’s much better than described (at least I think it is), and even with the $56 duty it worked out to be a good price for everything.
So I think between the 45/4 lens that came with the camera and this lens I’ll have everything covered.

A 1961 Leica M2 is just not in the cards for me, however I did want a camera made in the same year as me... 😉

Vince, The wood hand grip is a nice addition to the 6X7. Helps with the handling.

I thought about it but the way I use the camera (left hand under the lens etc) I didn’t really see the value for me. Plus they are like $200+. I may change my mind at some point however.

The factory grip isn't terribly useful when shooting but is nice when carrying. I put the straps on the handle and wear it low cross body while also supporting it a bit using the grip in my left hand with the back toward me. Watch usedphotopro and National Camera and every once in awhile they get in several 6x7 grips in a batch and sell them for around $130.
The 3d printed right hand grips are really nice too.
