What have you just BOUGHT?

Just ordered Mr. Ding's 50mm f1.2 lens for my Nikon Zf. Fingers crossed that the lens performs well... there is still very little information about the lens online. I think Nikon is making a mistake in not offering 'retro' style lenses like this, especially for the Zf body.

A Sunpak 622 setup from Goodwill to get the Quantum high voltage cord. The 622 works and it came with a Stroboframe bracket.
From another auction, a Sunpak EXT cord so a can remotely mount the sensor. A sensor is inbound from Ebay.

B&H had a used Tilta grip for the x100vi so I decided to give it a try.





The base is much thinner than most grips (about half the height) which means it adds very little extra bulk to the camera. Downside with that is it is too thin to add a strap lug to the bottom of the grip for a vertical carry. This is compared to a JJC grip for my old x100f.





Unlike every other grip I have owned this attaches at two points. The strap lug is used for the second attachment point. With pretty much every other grip there is always this very minor movement/flex between the grip and the body. On the Tilta that isn't the case at all, it is solid.




The WCL-X100 arrived too. I glued in the magnet and now it automatically turns on the corrections for the wide angle adapter. Because it is the first generation WCL the silver is darker to match the original x100 but it still looks OK and cost $100 less than a used WCL-X100 II.

I am weak. I do not deserve sympathy.
I tried to tempt others to buy it but failed.


In my defence, a second generation Pancolar with a camera attached for £35 is a good deal.

At some point I will compare it to the v.1 Pancolar and see what's the difference.

I have one m4/3 camera left that takes interchangeable lenses- the Lumix GF1. I have not shot with it in almost two years, so I got it down and started playing around with it and convinced myself that I needed a new lens. I purchased a Panasonic 42.5mm 1.7 lens off ebay. See how easy it is to convince ourselves that we need another lens or camera. 😎

Did they say anything about using it with the GX680?

I bought another Pentax KM body with SMC Pentax 55mm f/1.8 lens on eBay. Price was $65 plus shipping.
I bought another Sekonic L-188 exposure meter on another photo forum. Price was $25 shipping included.

A C220 body and a Sekor 80mm blue dot, bought separately for about £100 each. Both seem fully operable & close to mint, apart from the body being quite ready for new film door light seals (which I can do).

It might be a month or two before I get a film through it, after which I'll be finally able to run a first test of my cobbled-up digital camera-scan copy stand arrangement. In which I have great faith, in case there are any faint-hearts amongst you ... ;-)

This week I bought a Tamron Adaptall 2 2x telencoverter 01F, which is in almost like new condition for less than £30. Luckily I had a spare Nikon AIS mount so I sdidn't have spend another £30 on one.

Trouble is, I'm not too keen on it even though it works as it should. I suppose part of me is a little disappointed at the lack of brightness in my FM2n's viewfinder, even with the f2.5 of all my fixed length tamron lenses. I know I lose two stops to it, but the microprism is unusable as it doesn't "shimmer" at any time and the split rangefinder only works with my eye exactly dead centre on it otherwise it blacks out. On the plus side the ground glass does seem to be more useable, partly because of the bigger image. I may not keep and just go for a Tamron adaptall 2 1.4x converter instead.

I think I was "spoiled" a bit by my Mamiya 2x converter for my M645 1000S because the image stays bright enough to focus easily. I was originally surprised at how bright the screen is when I first got the camera, as I'd owned an ETRSi some years ago and I needed a Beattie Intenscreen to get it to a decent "indoor" brightness.

I also bought 7 12 exp kodak verichrome pan 126 cartridges for my SL126. I now have about 23 Kodak films (some Colour) for it, and even less space in my fridge for food.

A Kiev 4a, with problems. Although it's 50 years old, it looks almost new. The wind knob was disconnected from the shutter (the mechanism was stuck in release mode), and when I fixed this I found a problem with the shutter which may have prevented the camera from working. I fixed that problem, too.

Not long ago, a Leica Type 246…..WOW!

Minolta SR macro bellows (version III?). Usually I don’t shoot macro but it is hard not to buy such a thing of mechanical perfection 😀
