100 pictures from the last two days in istanbul

Molotovs set one of the cannons on fire! Another cannon has to position itself to extinguish.
The burning cannon will probably be out of order, protesters managed to hit it with a molotov cocktail inside the cabin as the driver had gotten out.

09:03 GMT +1:

Two cannons now try to put the fire on the burning cannon out. Police respond to the successful attack with more teargas.

The burning cannon is dangerously close to two vans of Turkish media.

This keeps cannons occupied and gives protesters a chance to get back into the battle.

EDIT: I'm hoping many pictures will quickly show what went on. The image I'm seeing is distant, the accredited press is kept at bay by the authorities and will likely report pretty identical since they all have the same standing point and thus similar viewpoints...

09:13 GMT+1: groups of 25-35 policemen are moving into the streets from the square, beyond the view of the cameraman.

A fire truck has arrived to extinguish the fire on the burning water cannon truck.

There are several steets even further away from the camera where the sun shine into and the policemen can be seen chasing protesters there.

Erdogan has asked his constituency to use democracy and vote for his party at next years nation-wide municipal elections, but this oppression of protesters may have cut his ambition short. Yesterday he agreed to talk to representatives of the protesters, but then let the police move in anyway, proving that he is not really interested in what drives the protesters.

09:25 GMT+1: It seems the square is all but cleared from remaining protesters now.

Barricades at the entrance streets to the square are instantly being cleared by bulldozers. Accredited press gathers for the mandatory shot, to be seen on your newspaper later today. Just so you know...:)

At another far side of the square in front of a shop called Simit Sarayi, police are gearing up for one more battle with approx. 100 protesters who have gathered around some small buildings or container units.

Lots of chanting and shouting, some stone throwing and a large fire bellowing black rubber smoke, but police keep a distance and do not engage for now.

Press now are retreating, so action might be at hand.

Russia Today through Twitter reports serious clashes in off-square streets.

09:51 GMT+1: The square is not completely cleared yet.

The link is now resumed normal news service so no live feed. Thank you though, maybe it'll come back later.
This page has been largely my resource for what is happening in Turkey (along with the links provided in here). I would never know if it weren't for here and the social media. Global media have been quite 'polite' and 'balanced' to what is going on.
Thank you guys for keeping us informed. Be strong and stay safe.

it was clear to see what is coming now, erdogan cannot give in. but you stand upright, no matter what results, and that counts.

I hope you are all right. In our news reporters say that 6 policeman commit suicide finding it impossible to fallow orders.
