btw: there is an adapter to use contax/yashica-lenses(e.g.zeiss) on contax g1. i would prefer mechanical leica m6.Your photos have always been excellent, Colin. Congratulations on this hard to get award. I am glad that I got a Contax G1 with three Zeiss lenses in the mail! No clue how ZM and G1/G2 lenses compare though.

Congratulations - very nice photo!
Regarding the lens, does it have to be a Zeiss?

Ciao Colin
first of all, congratulations, it's always nice sharing good things with friends.
I was sure it was the first one who had won. If you look Zeiss brochures, I'm sure there's a 35 mm lens with a very similar image on it (same smokey mood, dark and light). Actually, I like more the 3rd, though, but just by a tad.
Keep up the good work. If it was me, I'd go for the 18. If it has to be wide, let's take the widest possible.

Bravo Colin !
I'd look at the 21mm first, it is a bit faster and more versatile. With shorter lenses, you really have to shoot people in the face...
Take care

What can I say, Congratulation!!
Love most of your pics on your flickr as well.
And you are the one who convince me buying my Zeiss 28mm.
Really pleased with lens.

Congratulation!! Well done!
As for 18 vs 21, I will go with 21.
Good luck!

Congrats Colin. That second picture is for sure a winner! ;-)

ps. I am told that it was the first image that won.
chapeau! well deserved!
between the 21 and the 18, i prefer the look of the 18 (the 21 is too similar in it's draw to the 28 you already have). my fav in that range is actually the 25, but it's too close in FOV to your 28.... pity about the 85
p.s. i think i'm the only one but i still like number 3 best.

I like the first one the best too, but they are all excellent.
If you can pick any lens, then you might want to pick either the 15/2.8 or the 85/2 as they are made in Germany and are worth a lot more. You then could sell it and buy what you really want.
