here i am, a 21mm junkie... yes, the 21mm color skopar is my "only" lens! wanted to hear and see some shots of fellow 21mm shooters here.

i will start the ball rolling! ;)

My CV 21/4 on an M2.
I really like this lens. I have a few more rolls to develop and scan that hopefully will have a keeper or two on them.
 
Zeiss 21mm f2.8 Biogon ZM. I dont have anymore M mount cameras but I kept this lens because I love it.

On Leica M6 with either Fuji Superia or TRI-X

Thanks! What I love most about this and other good Zeiss lenses is how underexposed areas tend to shift into a blue color. Its beautiful. After using this lens I look down upon my Canon 17-40 with disappointment. I really want a Sony RX1 because it has that great Zeiss lens characteristic....but that price!!!!!

I have been addicted to 21's since I got my first SA 21f3.4 in 1964! Always have at least one or two of that focal length - or more!
Death Valley, TriX, SA 21f3.4, red filter, M2.

The Death Valley shot was done with a oldie (black SA from early 70's) - this is with the latest addition to my 21 arsenal (which is growing - I think there are 7 or 8 of them now). This is the Voigtlander Ultron 21mm f1.8. Tokyo - and an empty street!
Arista Premium 400, Rodinal 1:60, II min. Bessa R4M and the Ultron 21f1.8
 
A couple of my favorites. Shot with the CV 21mm. Probably on my Bessa R but, possibly, on a Zorki 3m...
These two are relatively old and I am continuing to use the lens but don't have anything else on line that I know is from the 21.

I shot this with 21mm skopar and Portra 400VC, and converted to Black and White in Aperture.

I think the 21mm focal length works really well when single point perspective is used, because then the distortion is kept at a minimal ,and the lines stay really clean.

I've been watching a lot of Stanley Kubrick films lately, and he uses quite a few single point perspective shots, and I think he does this so he can use extremely wide angle lenses (sometimes as wide as 18mm) without the obvious visual cues that wides give off--namely the overt perception of spacial distortion (straight lines appearing curved).

The trick, I think, is to keep the lens plane level with the viewing plane (don't tilt up or down), and and have the leading lines end at a single point in the distance (like railroad tracks).

Obviously this is only one way to use wide angles, but I'm trying to be more conscious of it because the effect plays with your sense of space and perspective.

In reference to my shot, the only things that give away the use of an extremely wide angle are the articles on the table in the lower left of the image (they are distorted). If they weren't there, then the perspective in the shot would look odd, but it would be harder to pin down exactly why (with a cursory glance, or course).

Anyway, just something I've been thinking about recently.

Good thread. I like this focal length. I need to use it more.
