25mm worth it if you have a 28?

I have a Nikkor 28/2.8 AIS on order because all of the reviews I've read say it is the least Coneheady of any Nikkor and a razor.

I wonder about older 24-25s rf lenses if they have the same lower Conehead factor?

Even though non range coupled, I love the click stops on the focus ring for the CV 25mm. This and roughly the same fov as the eye, make a unique shooting experience in the streets.

I have both a 25 and 28. Like many others I rarely carry both. I will take 25/35 or 28/50. Having said that, I do find that there is more of a "difference" between the 25 and 28 than between 28 and 35 or 35 and 50.

As to makes, I have tried the Canon. CV and ZI. Imho, the ZI wins hands down if you have M mount. With the results I get from it, there is no way I could justify paying over twice the price for the Leica.

i know many of the cv lenses are aspherical design, don't know if the 25 is.
i didn't care for the non-coupling so i sold mine, but was just able to repurchase it. now in the cv range i have the 15/4.5, 25/4, 28/3.5 and 50/1.5. i sold my 21/4 to a friend and will no doubt purchase another one before too long.

I guess im in the minority, I think 25 is too close to 28 so its not a focal length I have gone for. I like the 21, 28, 40, 90 combo.

When traveling, I will have both lenses with me, but locally it is either the
25mm or the 28mm lens but not both. I have only one 25mm lens but have two 28mm lenses. The Canon 28mm/3.5 gives a vintage look with creamy rendition, whereas the Rokkor-M 28mm/2.8 has a modern look to it.

I too think that it's either the 25 or the 28, but not both.

In general, I'd suggest a 1.4x spread at least in focal lengths for rangefinders. Unless there's a compelling reason of course to double up in focal lengths, like for instance a very fast versus a very compact lens.

With me the 28 is in the Tri-Elmar, the 24Asph is such a different type of lens, that it is worth it to carry both. For the FOV I find the difference not large enough to consider a prime 28 mm lens.
