What a shame. An amazing lens.
I certainly hope to see Cosina come out with a follow-on to this lens.
I wish they would do more aspherics- such as a 58/1.2 aspheric in some SLR mounts. The price of the Noct-Nikkor is insane. A 58/1.2 Aspherical in F-Mount at a $1200 price point, same as the current price of the 35/1.2 Nokton, would sell.
Not sure if people have seen this. Maybe Stephen can verify this?

It is? Some Zeiss-badged lenses are made there, I know, but I didn't know Cosina made all the glass for the Zeiss lenses they make (in fact, I don't know they make any glass at all), and I'm absolutely confident that Zeiss uses many other glasses in their factory in Germany, at least some (probably all) German-made.
