If Leica made this lens, it would be $10000 so a $300 price increase, I can live with. Dollar vs the yen you know.

I have one and love the rendition especially on Ektar. However, I find I don't really use the speed so want to trade for something smaller.
 
I certainly hope to see Cosina come out with a follow-on to this lens.

I wish they would do more aspherics- such as a 58/1.2 aspheric in some SLR mounts. The price of the Noct-Nikkor is insane. A 58/1.2 Aspherical in F-Mount at a $1200 price point, same as the current price of the 35/1.2 Nokton, would sell.

absolutely. been waiting for that too, especially since they discontinued the 50/1.5. Why they then updated the 15mm to M mount instead of other is beyond my own sense of reasoning.

Man, on a forum full of Leica shooters you're seriously complaining that the Noct-Nikkor is overpriced? I owned one and it is worth ever single dollar they go for, oh and it's not that hard to find them for under $2k, so why would you want a CV lens for $1200 when you can get the real thing for $1600? Don't get me wrong, I love Cosina, but at the right price point.

Tom A has mentioned a couple of times that CV makes their own glass. But I don't think CV has ever stated that directly.

But never mind about brands, when you have a heavy all glass lens with no distortion, focus shift, or purple fringing, or bad bokeh, and then you have a lens that weighs half of the heavy all glass lens, and has most of the bad features above, you have to wonder if they're making glass, or plastic elements in there.

Both Tom and I have toured Cosina's factories, including their glass factory.

I can assure you that Cosina makes all of its own glass, and that it supplies glass to many other lens makers as well.
