a one camera case?

by the way folks...i bought a nice black domke f8 today and i think it's gonna do what i need for a one body/lens kit...

i have a question for f8 owners or just anyone with an answer...the f8 has 2 small side pockets and inside those pockets are a single stretchy band...i have no idea what it might be used for!
anyone?

No problem Joe. Just promise me that when we bump into each other at the farmers market you go easy on me as I strut my Lowepro :). I do like the F8. Seems like a good solution for you.

Never could figure that out. BTW the rugged wear version is slightly smaller because of the material used. Same internal.

Here is another interesting one. This is from a Leica "Aztec" M4P display case, it's burgundy leather with padding. Took me the longest time to find one for what I felt was a reasonable price (45 bucks). Perfect to put the camera in tank bag or back-pack when traveling. For body with 2 smaller or one bigger lens.

I have way to many bags at this point but for small easy carry I am enjoying the Tamrac Velocity sling bags. A little funky looking but they get out of the way. In a crowd the bag is tight against you so no worries about it hitting others. When I have my camera out I have its strap across my body and the sling bag helps to keep that out of the way. With a shoulder bag it tends to hit the camera more.

A Velocity 4 will hold a single camera with lens easily with room for film/batteries. The 5 isn't a sling style bag and the 6 will hold camera with lens and at least one more lens and possibly two.

The larger bags hold a huge amount of equipment if needed. Check the big auction site, you can pick them up cheap if you keep watching. I think my Velocity 4 was $12.

Be aware that there are a few generations of these. The original ones had the flap hinge against your body and had buckle opening. The 'X' versions hinge away from you (a little easier to get into) but are zipper flaps (the big ones with buckles too) and the 'Z' versions are a little more square of a design.

a Billingham Stowaway, will take only one body and a lens but is built with Billingham's legendary quality:)

Back to the Think Tank Retro 5. I took one of these on vacation to the coast and carried only the M6 and a 35 in it. More than enough room for other stuff. I like the TT over the A&A bag I mentioned above mainly for the height ( depth--M6 standing on it's end ) of the bag. Workmanship of each bag is excellent.

Funny how folks perceive bags. Canvas for some, while other's like the Billingham type. Then there is the Filson small field bag like my daughter has and the Henri above. And of course the Fogg bags that are way beyond my paycheck.

If anyone cares a $14 Lowepro Dashpoint 30 will carry a Fuji XE-2 with a 28mm lens attached.

Got it for an upcoming trip and will easily clip onto the strap of a backback, a belt or comes with strap.

For maximum protection, I prefer a small hard watertight Pelican case. I carry my medium format Fuji GW670 or my Fuji GSW690 rangefinder, a few rolls of film, and a light meter.

I just got the Henri bag too. Very nice! It does force me to choose between using my half case and thumbs up and only one lens, or naked camera and 2 lenses. If I put a lens in the pouch and keep the half case on, the fit is not great. I really like the half case and thumbs up with the newer ASPH. lenses, due to the weight. The naked camera is fine with the pre-ASPH 35 and 50. Is anyone else concerned at all about the degree to which the red suede sheds? I know it will stop eventually, but it worries me that some of that will get into my lenses or viewfinder.
