I've never had a repair go wrong, so I'm not really qualified to make a comment. I will say that I've always been very careful to whom I send work, asking around if the repairer is new to me. Having been on the other end of the plank, servicing heavy industrial machinery, I do know how difficult it is for some people to come out and say that, having got into the job, there's other faults lurking. I worked in a field where a repair could go from £1,000 to £5,000, as soon as the covers were off, and that was back in the 'eighties.
