I am looking for a point and shoot with automatic exposure and approx. normal (50 mm) focal length (no zoom) for my wife - could you recomend any type?

The Canon ML (AF35ML) with it's 40/1.9 lens immediately comes to mind. Or one of the many dual-focal-length compacts, they are usually 35mm and 55mm (Like the Minolta Freedom Tele/Leica AF-C1, for example).

Depending on your budget, their would be also the Leica CM (40mm)

+1 Leica CM 40mm 2.4. The longest focal length AE point and shoot that I can remember in the last 15 or so years.

Thank you for your suggestions. As she needs this camera "not to be sad if it will fell somewhere etc." Leica is not good idea.
It seems she likes Minolta Weathermatic Dual version of Minolta Freedom Dual for its crazy look (and weather/water resistence as well
