Well,

As you all know. the forum has grown and the server is being maxed. Keeping the site up and running is not easy or cheap for a one man shop. The hosting of the site will need to be moved eventually and the price is really starting to go way above my initial guess of operating expense. In reality, this is good 🙂 It means more members are tuned in to this great site. Thus, In an effort to raise some money, I would love to have an RFF calendar published which can be sold for a minimal price to help support the forum. Obviously the photos would need to come from members who would not have a problem allowing the use of their photograph in the calendar. Does this sound like a good idea to you? Please provide some feedback.

Thanks,

it sure seems like a great idea if you're into poster-calenders.

Personally, I prefer one-a-days, so I really wouldn't have a use for one of these, even if it is RFF.

Really, I'm not trying to be discouraging; I just would not purchase a 12month calender.
Now, if it was a 365 picture one-a-day, I would be more interested..

Dingo has a great idea. Taking submissions from members and creating perhaps a series of international calendars would be a good idea. Or maybe just one. Urban centers, landscapes, etc., from around the world

I'd be cool to give one of mine to the project.

that sounds cool, but the one-a-day would have to be pretty big to really showcase the work at decent quality. I mean, it would have to at least offer 4x6 inches to the photo I would think. . . .

I would be happy to contribute.

Good idea, whatever it takes to keep us up and running, I'm in!

In for a Penny, in for a Pound. You can use whatever I have in my gallery. I am sure that you browse through and have some ideas on what you want to use anyway. It's a good idea and I like the possibility of having the photo's as 4x6's on maybe a 5x7 cards. Photo a day type thing.

Sounds interesting, and heck, I'll even buy one!

But I would suggest a different source than Gallery pics as these are "boiled down" to fit the upload limitations.

For a calendar you're probably going to want greater resolution than what will happen when you enlarge the Gallery pics.

If any of my gallery photos are useful, I'll be surprised and will happily provide better scans and give you the appropriate release(s).

Nice idea! I'd suggest the photos should fit some sort of theme, for consistency. Does Jorge already have ideas, or would anyone have any suggestions?
