An Open Letter......

If it were my site, I think I'd make sure - no matter how many or few threads actually got locked/deleted/etc... or how many people got banned - that ALL whiney threads about moderation got removed summarily and promptly. That seems to be the key to running a nice on topic site. IMHO they're more harmful to the general atmosphere of a forum than the actual posts that get locked. But it's not my site, nobody asked me, and this thread (as well as this post 🙂 ) would be one of the whiney threads removed.

God damn it, I want what I want. I want...I want...I won't stop crying until I got what I want... 😉

Andy, I am with you on film so screw the digital...but why do you care? Give it up and you will be an instant Buddah.

If you were falsely accused of something would you allow it to go unchallenged? I was falsely accused of anti-US feeling by a moderator. I want that accusation retracted. If it is not it will prove what I have been saying about there being one rule for some and another rule for others on RFF.

Oh, I do all the time. I am anti-US, don't you know?

Rick,
There is a tendency of the moderators to shun/avoid politics. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I find these discussions to be among the best on RFF. Last summer, in the space of a few days, a left-leaning European member quit over concerns about the forum having a conservative bent, and a right-leaning U.S. member quit over concerns that the forum has a liberal intolerance of American conservatives. These departures sparked one of the most mature discussions of multiculteral perceptions I ever read, and I was so impressed with everyone's restraint that I even paypaled Jorge a bit of a donation to help cover that month's operating costs.

I truly enjoy the philosophy of photography and the passion and different viewpoints so many people bring to it. But it's a "travel at your own risk" journey, because a few cage-rattlers can quickly upset delicate well-intentioned discussions.

You Have To Paypay To Post Here????????

I've been pushing dollar bills into the slot on the front of my computer. I have another slot that looks like a credit card reader... I should try that. But, PayPal would be convenient, wouldn't it.

Oh, no.

Time to move this to the "completely different" forum?
🙂 🙂 Frank, I always love your posts here. You are always the voice of calm and reason when the s**t hits the fan.

What am I missing?????

Your old username, perhaps?

Let's chill, guys. Whilst I don't happen to agree that the thread linked here as an example of Roger Hicks' style was particularly in need of much moderator influence, the fact must remain that it is Jorge's place. So we do as he says. If not, well, there's a whole load of internet left.

Cheers
Jamie
