New York Anybody in NYC??

Boy, someone shouts "New York City!", and they all come running. Including me. ;)

I wouldn't mind an informal "quasi-Rff meet-up-and-print-showing-fest" somewhere in the area. One idea I have for a venue is the Tea Lounge in Park Slope (Brooklyn), which is an awfully nice lounge/pub for this sort of thing. Of course, there are lots of other venues as well, but I like the idea of comfy n' low-key for a get-together. (I just remembered...I think the Lounge actually has a ceiling-mounted slide projector...I'll have to get back to you on that one.)

I think that I know the venue -I live in south Williamsburg. And I like it. But if there wiil be people coming from NJ or Connecticut, maybe somewhere in Manhattan is a more reliable meet point.

Do somebody knows how to do a poll in this forum? with 2 or 3 venues and tentative dates?

BTW, February 10 is the lunar new year, it will be a nice thing to shoot..

I actually just moved here from California. I live on the UWS and would most definitely be interested in meeting up. Just let us know when and where!

ok: the parade begining at 11:00 AM
the start point will be Chatham Square, and I think that the main street, for the parade, is Mott st.
there is a starbucks at the corner of Canal and Central, that can be a good meeting point...
any suggestions?

That's Canal and Centre Street. Northwest corner. We're talking Sunday. That's the actual parade day.

I've just noticed this thread, I've been away for a bit.

I live in Westchester. Although I don't often have time to exclusively go out shooting, it would be great to know what's going on so that I can get out when I can.

i just moved out of the city after 8 years. i am in long island now but still get to manhattan and brooklyn here and there.

now that the weather is getting nicer, this could work out rather well.
please feel free to pm me as i may get lost in the forum and not find my way back.

OK, c'mon now, let's get this thing together!

Weather's getting nicer! No shortage of things to shoot!

All we need is a DATE, TIME & PLACE to meet up!

So, Saturday? Sunday" this weekend, Next? The one after? Chime in!

I suggest a simple "quorum" of 4 who can make any given date/time combo because we'll never get everybody together at the same time!

Well, I can make it most anywhere in NYC proper, so we'll need to sort out location (hopefully). I made a few suggestions earlier, but there might be other options.

Another Upper Westsider here.
Anywhere is fine.
One idea- how about a couple rounds of Dim Sum in Chinatown at some point.
We could take pictures of each other across the lazy susan.

how about March 31?

how about March 31?

Hey Barrett,

what happened with the salide projector at the Tea lounge? It works? easy to use it (manager permission, I mean...)?

Sundays works better for me (if Real Madrid is not playing :p ) we can try to invade any starbucks inthe Upper West side, or somewhere in Down Town... how about March 31?

Heck...I just walked by there an hour ago (while doing the equinox-shoot thing). I'll try and go by tomorrow and ask them. Would make a great venue, IMO.
