I havnt heard boo about it, but this page http://www.ausmedia.com.au/Epson_V900_Photo_Scanner.htm has been up for a little while now (since before Photokina) indicating the V900 is to be released at some point.
Did anyone see an Epson display at Photokina?

They have some pretty nifty scanners in Japan already. Especially the F-3200. Wonder if they will ever be available outside of Japan.
Cheers,

That was not very good. It was an attempt by Epson to repackage flatbed components into something that looked more like a dedicated film scanner. Once reviewers got their hands on it, the test results proved it was "more show than go."

If you are looking at the 970, it is the same size and chassis as the 700/750.

i am wondering because i was thinking of getting the V700 for sheet film and also to use it for 120 film but if the V900 was to arrive sometime in the near future i figured i may as well wait...seems to be a long wait!

Waiting for what? GT-X970 is the name for the V750 on the Japanese market, and the F-3200 was a brief marketing attempt sidestepping from the 4490/4990 generation - already superseded by the V series and a dead end in their lineup. That is, there is no new Epson scanner.

Just if the Epson would listen ... how many of us would gladly pay the amount as for the V750 if the scanner TRUE specs would improve a bit, (true resolution of ~ 2700 dpi at 3200 dpi setting and bit better Dynamic range) - they are not that far away ... Many of us shoot films and so many need to scan ...

It would take a lot more of people turning back to use film to convince these companies to keep producing, let alone improve their scanners. I am just as frustrated as most film users, but I'm no longer holding my breath.
I think my enlarger will outlive my scanners.
